A browser app and a native download are different
A browser app opens at a website address. A native app installs from an app store. PRENK’s published calling experience is a web app: the story, voice, phone setup, and call controls are available at prenk.org. This guide is not announcing an iPhone or Android store listing.
A home-screen shortcut saves you from typing the address again. Depending on your browser and device, it can open the website in an app-style window. It does not turn an internet phone service into an offline one: voice creation, account checks, and live audio still need a connection.
The recipient receives an ordinary phone call. They do not need your browser, your home-screen shortcut, or a PRENK account to answer. Arrange participation with them first, then choose the story without requiring them to install anything.
Add PRENK to your iPhone home screen
- Open prenk.org in Safari.
- Open Share. On some Safari layouts, open the Page Menu first, then choose Share.
- Choose Add to Home Screen. If it is missing, look in Edit Actions.
- If offered, choose Open as Web App, then tap Add.
- Use the new PRENK icon when you want to return.
Apple’s guide documents these options; their position depends on your Safari layout and iOS version. You can also keep using the browser tab. Adding the icon is a convenience, not a requirement to make a call.
Add PRENK on Android
- Open prenk.org in Chrome on your Android phone.
- Open the menu beside the address bar.
- Look for Install and create shortcut, Install, or Add to Home screen, depending on your version.
- Follow the device’s prompts and return using the new icon.
Google’s current Chrome help calls the menu option “Install and create shortcut,” followed by “Install.” Older layouts may use different wording. If the option is unavailable, you can still use PRENK directly in the browser.
Contacts: choose one person, not your whole address book
PRENK shows a contact picker when the browser supports it. Support varies, so seeing that button on one phone does not mean another phone will have it. The app also accepts a pasted number and a single contact card file.
On iPhone, copy the person’s number from Contacts and paste it into the recipient field, or export their contact card and use Import contact card. If a card contains multiple numbers, choose the one you intend to call. Include the country code and check the result.
This flow does not require uploading your entire address book. Choose only the person you need. Microphone permission is a separate request: it is needed for recording your own voice and speaking through supported listening or takeover controls. Choosing a ready-made voice skips the voice-sample recording step.
When the browser asks to use the microphone, grant it only when you are ready to record or speak. If audio fails, check that the browser has permission and that the intended microphone or headset is connected before retrying.
A short checklist before calling
- Choose one story and keep Natural delivery for a first attempt.
- Finish phone and outgoing caller ID verification.
- Preview the voice with the audio device you plan to use.
- Confirm the recipient and their agreement to take part.
- Use stable Wi-Fi or mobile data, especially if listening live.
- Keep the call controls accessible while attending the call.
The most useful mobile setup is the one you can complete calmly. You can browse stories without an account, then link your number when you are ready. The first minute does not require a payment card.
If the mobile flow gets stuck
Swipe or scroll sideways to see the whole table →
| What you see | What to check |
|---|---|
| No contacts button | Paste a number or import a contact card; picker support varies. |
| No microphone audio | Check browser microphone permission and the active audio device. |
| Verification still pending | Finish the verification on your phone, then return to PRENK. |
| Slow loading | Try a more stable connection and let the current request finish. |
| Recipient did not answer | Read the final call status before using the retry option. |
| No install menu | Continue in the browser; a home-screen icon is optional. |
If you prefer a store download, compare the products that publish mobile app links. Check the app publisher and its current features rather than assuming every prank calling app includes live AI replies or personal voice cloning.
